2023 Fall Family Sessions

All dates and locations for this years fall family sessions are available for booking! Fall is my favorite time of year and I’m so excited to see some of my favorite families. As most of you know, I was in the school the past several years and didn’t have the chance to offer very many family sessions during that time. This year I am offering a wider selection of dates and locations. Each date will only have 2-4 openings, so I do recommend booking asap to get your preferred date or location.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some common questions and answers regarding family sessions.

Most of these family sessions are 30 minutes long. The only location that is 20 minutes instead is the Christmas Greenhouse in Plant City, since that one is one small area and won’t take as long. This gives us plenty of time to ensure great images of the whole family. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to ensure you are ready to start at your appointment time. This gives you time to use the bathroom, changes outfits, and touch up makeup if any of these are needed. Keep in mind there will be other sessions before and after you so if you are late your time cannot be made up and will be deducted from your session.

I recommend wearing 2-3 colors that compliment one another (don’t put everyone in the same color). Look for fabrics that are solid or feature patterns that aren’t too busy (subtle florals, stripes, or plaids). Great colors are nudes/tans, soft blue or green, muted blush/pink, and grays. You can also add in small pops of brighter colors such as red, orange, or yellow but keep those minimal such as a scarf, accessory, or girls shoes. I have great examples of what to wear on the Pinterest board link below.

I am offering several dates in-studio, in which there is no need to worry about rain. Also the Plant City Greenhouse setup is covered, as well as the UT location, so those sessions can still take place if it rains – just bring umbrellas to get you from the car to the shooting area. For the rest of the locations, I have a built-in back up rain date. See descriptions for the session you are booking, which will tell you when the backup date is (it will be either one day later, or one week later). Please make sure you are available BOTH dates.

You will receive a link to view your unedited PROOF gallery the day after the session. You will have 3 days (72 hours) to choose your images. If you DO NOT choose your images within 72 hours, the gallery will close and I will choose your images for you. After images are chosen, I will start retouching, and the retouching process takes up to 2 weeks. Once completed, you will receive a link to download your final images. For sessions in December, you will receive your images by December 23rd, as long as you choose your images by the deadline.

Your session will include 15 digital images of your choice. You will have the option to purchase more if you’d like to, after you view the PROOF gallery.

These are shorter length sessions, so this is strictly for immediate families, with up to 2 adults and up to 4 children. If you have a larger family please contact me to purchase a full length session instead.

I have some tips to help ensure a great session. First, be sure that your whole family is well rested and have had plenty of water that day. Have children eat a snack and use the bathroom right before you leave home. I recommend trying to avoid having children fall asleep in the car on the way to the session. If your child is likely to fall asleep, I recommend leaving extra early so they can finish up their nap while you drive around. If your child is asleep when you arrive for the session, please wake them up IMMEDIATELY when you arrive so they have time to adjust before we start shooting.

If you child isn’t behaving the way you’d like them to – the best thing to do is be silly and have fun with them. Don’t scold them which will only make it worse. Also try not to stress – they can sense this! Just stay calm, and try singing to them, playing with them, or tickling them. Most children warm up to me quickly.

If your child is very young, I recommend bringing small non-messy snacks such as puffs/Cheerios. This can provide them a great distraction if we need it and usually calms down an upset baby.
